Heartstopper: Volume Three

“There's this idea that if you're not straight, you HAVE to tell all your family and friends immediately, like you owe it to them. But you don't. You don't have to do anything until you're ready.”

Charlie didn't think Nick could ever like him back, but now they're officially boyfriends. Nick's even found the courage to come out to his mum.

But coming out isn't just something that happens once - there's Nick's older brother, and a school trip to Paris, not to mention all the other friends and family - and life can be hard, even with someone who loves you by your side. As their feelings for each other get more serious, Charlie and Nick will need each other more than ever before.

Book #3 in The Heartstopper Series!

Alphabet Team Review

If Volume #2 focused on the positive side of coming out, then Volume #3 deals with the fact sometimes coming out is hard and complicated. It also starts to touch on heavier subjects around bullying, self-harm and eating disorders. It explores that ‘getting together’ is just the beginning and there is always so much to learn about your favourite person and those things may not always be positives. And that while things may be alright now, that doesn’t erase the past.

This book also includes my favourite moment and also my favourite quote of the series thus far: "Oh. You're being gay. Good job. Carry on."
And the concept that hugging your favourite human is “recharging”. We do that a lot at Alphabet HQ.

Full Description

Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. The bestselling LGBTQ+ graphic novel about life, love, and everything that happens in between: this is the fourth volume of HEARTSTOPPER, for fans of The Art of Being Normal, Holly Bourne and Love, Simon.

Charlie didn't think Nick could ever like him back, but now they're officially boyfriends. Charlie's beginning to feel ready to say those three little words: I love you.

Nick's been feeling the same, but he's got a lot on his mind - not least coming out to his dad, and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder.

As summer turns to autumn and a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick are about to learn a lot about what love means.

Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie's lives that together make up something larger, which speaks to all of us.

This is the fourth volume of Heartstopper, which has now been optioned for television by See-Saw Films.
